What is the surgical process like?
It is a relatively short surgery that uses very fine cannulas (2-3mm) to suction the excess subcutaneous fat from the chin area. The incisions are made in strategic locations so that the scars remain hidden and invisible. Local anesthesia and light sedation are applied. It is an outpatient procedure.
What is the postoperative period like?
The neck may feel numb in the first few days, and some bruising may persist for a couple of weeks. By the third week, much of the swelling should subside, and the bruises should become unnoticeable.
It is recommended to wear a specific compression garment for the neck for at least 15 days to achieve optimal results. Your surgeon will advise you on how long to wear it.
