When the body contour is unbalanced, it can make us feel insecure about our appearance. Lipofilling techniques, also known as fat grafting, are increasingly valued in the field of aesthetic and plastic surgery. This minimally invasive procedure has the unique advantage of restoring the aesthetic harmony of the body by using your own fat, extracting it from one area of the body and then injecting it into another area that has lost volume or where we wish to increase it.
It allows for a moderate and lasting increase, for example, in breasts/chest, glutes, legs, calves, and arms, as well as for filling depressed skin scars.
Another common indication is facial rejuvenation. Micro-fat grafts fill and restore the fullness that is lost due to aging, rejuvenating and improving all areas of the face, including the chin, nose, neck, jawline, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, eyebrows, upper eyelids, temples, and lips.
Candidates for this technique are patients who wish to rebalance their body volume by removing fat from where it is excessive and transferring it to areas where there is a volume deficit or where they want an increase. Since the tissue is extracted from their own body, it is a completely safe procedure that eliminates the risk of rejection, inflammation, and allergic reactions, which are problems associated with the use of synthetic filler materials.
How is a fat transfer done?
At Liposser, we utilize High-Definition Liposculpture (HD), a new liposuction technology that selectively acts on fatty tissue without affecting blood vessels or nerves, liquefying the fat to facilitate its extraction, which reduces pain and inflammation in the postoperative period. This procedure is personalized to meet the patient’s needs. We perform ultra HD sculpting liposuction with cutting-edge technologies such as PAL Microaire and HEUS, which combine ultrasonic and vibrational liposuction for the safe extraction of fat. The fat is collected in a sterile container, to which essential nutrients such as vitamins, amino acids, and antibiotics are added to ensure that the fat remains viable for years once grafted into the desired body or facial area.
Then, the fat cells are injected into the deficient contour. It may be necessary to repeat this procedure several times depending on the amount of fat needed to complete the procedure.
What should you do after the lipofilling surgery?
Immediately after the treatment, the patient must wear a compression garment for four weeks to reduce swelling and bruising. The patient may experience mild pain in the treated area, which can be alleviated with pain relievers recommended by the surgeon. Additionally, postoperative rehabilitation sessions should be taken to support the recovery process of the treated areas.
